Floreo joins Step Up For Students’ approved provider list, giving families of neurodiverse learners a new way to practice social, communication and life skills at no out-of-pocket cost

TAMPA (Oct. 22, 2026) – Floreo, a pioneering developer of virtual reality-based skills training for neurodiverse individuals, today announced it is now an approved provider for Florida’s Family Empowerment Scholarship for Students with Unique Abilities (FES-UA), administered by Step Up For Students. Families with an FES-UA education savings account can now use their scholarship funds to pay for a monthly Floreo subscription.

FES-UA is the largest program for students with special needs in the country, serving more than 140,000 Florida students with an average award of about $10,000. Families can direct those funds toward approved therapies, curriculum, online learning programs and other resources tailored to their child’s needs, from homeschool to private school settings.

“We have done a lot to support our son’s development, including tons of therapies, speech therapy and ABA, but adding Floreo to his routine has made a huge difference,” said Diane Lazic, a Gulf Coast mom and social worker whose son uses Floreo five days a week as part of his homeschool curriculum. “It gives our son opportunities to practice communication, social interaction, and everyday situations without the stress and pressure that can come with practicing those skills in the real world. He can practice, learn, and build confidence in an environment that feels safe and manageable for him.”

Using a VR headset, learners step into realistic, guided scenarios, such as ordering at a restaurant, crossing the street or joining a conversation, and practice the skills they need to navigate them. Floreo’s lessons are designed with clinicians and can be used at home, in schools or alongside therapy providers. In Florida, Floreo already works with organizations including Easterseals Southwest Florida.

“Florida has long been a leader in giving families the flexibility to choose what works for their child, and we’re proud to be part of that,” said Vijay Ravindran, CEO of Floreo. “For many families, cost is the biggest barrier to new tools. Being an FES-UA provider means more neurodiverse learners can practice life, communication and social skills in a safe, virtual environment and carry that confidence into the real world.”

Families can find Floreo in Step Up For Students’ provider listings. To learn more about Floreo and how to purchase a subscription with FES-UA funds, visit floreovr.com/state-programs/florida
