About Floreo:

At Floreo, we use virtual reality to craft immersive, therapeutic, and educational experiences for children and adults with autism, ADHD, and other neurotypes. We incorporate evidence-based strategies to make sure each experience is not just fun, but truly beneficial. We’re on a mission to create a more open and accessible world for the neurodiverse!

Job Summary:

As part of our creative content team, you'll work closely with the Director of Therapy Content and our engineering experts. Using Unity—a platform for creating interactive games —and our in-house tools, you'll help build immersive VR experiences to teach essential skills like communication, social interactions, safety awareness, and emotional regulation. If you're passionate about technology and dedicated to making a significant impact in the lives of autistic individuals, we're looking for you.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build VR lessons in Unity according to detailed design requirements - all essential environment, character, and sound assets will be provided.
  • Expand upon initial layouts, whether in LucidChart or directly within the Unity scene, by arranging and positioning characters and interactive objects.
  • Make thoughtful decisions about dialogue, coaching instructions, and therapeutic approaches, using evidence based strategies to enhance learning.
  • Think creatively about using interactive elements to maximize engagement and effectively teach skills in a fun way.
  • Collaborate closely with our internal testing team to fine-tune the experience and performance of each lesson.
  • Manage and track issues by creating JIRA tickets, ensuring nothing slips through the cracks.
  • Maintain clear and timely communication across our fully remote, multi-time zone team to help keep your projects smoothly moving forward.

About You:
  • We value diverse skill sets and backgrounds, including those with lived neurodiverse experience and/or professional experience in education, clinical roles (BCBA, SLP, OT), or social work.
  • If you are passionate about technology as a therapeutic tool, you will find a rewarding environment here.
  • You're naturally curious, ask thoughtful questions, and see challenges as opportunities to innovate.
  • Knowledge of game design and development is a plus.
  • You have a strong desire to learn new skills, particularly with Unity and other development tools.
  • Capable of working independently, you also enjoy collaborating with colleagues across different teams and functions.
  • You are detail-oriented in your approach to development and documentation.

What We Offer:
  • Collaborative Culture: Work alongside technologists, clinicians, and researchers, all dedicated to innovation and excellence.
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, dental, vision insurance, 401K plan, and PTO.
  • Remote Work: Enjoy the flexibility to work from anywhere.
  • Professional Development: Learn and grow through collaboration across teams with opportunities for advancement.
  • Yearly Company Offsite: Gather once a year for good food, fun activities, and envisioning our company's future.
  • Social Activities: Join monthly virtual social events and games to unwind and connect beyond work.
  • Tech Tools Provided: Company laptop, iPhone, iPad, and Meta Quest.

We make hiring decisions based on your experience, skills and passion, as well as how you can enhance Floreo and our culture. Even if you don’t feel like your skills quite match what’s listed above - we still want to hear from you!
