Partnership enables learners to develop communication, safety and life skills

LAKEWOOD CO (August 2, 2023): Trumpet, a leading autism care provider and Floreo, a leading virtual reality (VR) behavioral therapy company, have entered into an expanded partnership to provide Floreo’s pioneering VR technology for Trumpet’s patient population.

Trumpet is one of the first providers to actively adopt Floreo’s new Category III Current Procedural Terminology Code (CPT) from the American Medical Association for the use of VR technology to assist with therapy. The CPT III code (0770T) went into effect in January 2023, allowing qualified healthcare professionals to report their use of VR as part of therapy as a practice expense.

“We believe our exciting partnership with Floreo will be a significant benefit for our patient population,” said Dr. Amber Valentino, Trumpet’s Chief Clinical Officer. “As a clinician–led company, our culture is focussed on going above and beyond for our clients, and bringing Floreo’s VR technology for them is a great example of our mission in action,” added Dr. Valentino.

“Trumpet is a visionary and results-oriented therapy leader and we are proud to partner together with them to support their learners in their development of critical skills,” said Vijay Ravindran, Floreo’s Founder & CEO. “The CPT code from the AMA has opened significant opportunities to deploy and scale our VR technology and we look forward to expanding our partnership with Trumpet,” added Mr. Ravindran.

Trumpet and Floreo launched a pilot in 2022. Results from that initiative demonstrated excellent skill acquisition and generalization of skills learned in the VR world to the natural environment with learners. A synopsis of this was presented at the recent ABAI conference.
